SACRAMENTS
Sacraments are “powers that come forth” from the Body of Christ, which is ever-living and life-giving.
They are actions of the Holy Spirit at work in his Body, the Church.

The entire liturgical life of the Church revolves around the Eucharistic Sacrifice and the sacraments. For information on preparation for a sacrament, and how they are celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows, please read below.
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Instruction is required for all who wish to receive the Holy Sacraments of the Church.
Baptisms are generally scheduled on Sundays at 1:15pm in the church. Call the Rectory Office for
full details and inquiries.


SACRAMENTS OF FIRST RECONCILIATION,FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION
For information on preperation for these Sacraments, please refer to our Religious Education page.
SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY
Instruction is required for all who wish to receive the Sacraments of the Church.
Matrimony
Engaged couples are requested to contact the rectory one year in advance of the proposed marriage date. The marriage preparation program is a serious and lengthy process. Please call the Rectory Office for further information.


ANOINTING OF THE SICK
If you are sick or homebound, or know a Parishioner who is, and would like to receive Holy Communion, please contact the Rectory at (914) 949-9819.
